University Library Johann Christian Senckenberg
The University Library of the Goethe University Frankfurt is one of the largest libraries in Germany comprising a central library building and five more departmental facilities for faculties and institutes. As a university library it serves almost 50.000 students and scientists of the Goethe University by providing printed and electronic information for all subjects as well as maintaining a repository for theses and articles written by members of the university. As a public academic library it is open to all citizens of the town and region. The library is also a publisher of several electronic databases for specialized subjects for the international scientific community. Special collections and historical holdings are in a rapid process of digitization for public access worldwide. Furthermore, HeBIS, the central offices of the regional libraries network and the head office of the HeBIS consortia are located there.
