We send you our warmest invitation and are happy to welcome you to the 106. Deutscher Bibliothekartag in Frankfurt. Under the motto: “Media, People, Markets”, we look
forward to greeting you at the Congress Center Messe Frankfurt. The city itself is very cosmopolitan with people from more than 160 nations living and working in Frankfurt.
As a transport hub and banking metropolis, Frankfurt has a worldwide appeal with its airport and is proud to be the home of the European Central Bank. The world of books
and media brings Frankfurt into focus annually as the city hosts the world’s largest book fair. As the home of the “Börsenvereins des deutschen Buchhandels” (Association of the
German Book Trade), German National Library, and the largest University Library in Hesse as well as many other libraries of universities and museums, Frankfurt proves to
be a book city, per se. We are happy to welcome you to the city on the River Main which simply bursts with diversity.
